Like most teams playing in the tourney, if we play well we can beat anyone. We beat Louisville twice during the season, and also laid some eggs.

Depends on what Memphis team shows up.

agreed, but that works both ways...coastal gave them a run for the money and just couldn't finish...them sobs were on fire in the 2nd half....watched both games and you guys have more talent and match up well against them....

just know you have someone in the 'burg pulling for you guys.....

Thanks.

Anything can happen but we've gotten pounded in a big way by teams that have quick defenses. We'll see what happens. The little bit that I saw UVa play this year, I was surprised when they got a #1 seed; but we've really struggled with talented defenses at times.

As always, thanks for the kind words........

Memphis can go deep in the tournament if they buttholes don't get tight.

I think it's been 4 years (maybe 3) since that comment was made. Some words never "disappear", they just resurface at unusual times. :)

I'm torn when I watch Memphis. Part of me says- "Pastner is a good kid. Let them get things going".... The other side says- "They have to prove they are elite, if they want to be called elite, and haven't done so. They need to play some D. "

Certain Memphis fans make want to chuckle when they struggle.

But Old Tiger, EarthBoundMisfit, 99Tiger, and a couple of others make me cheer for them. Pastner's clean program approach, and the class/grace of OT and others', wins.....

The fact Pastner's a nice guy, who graduates players, and has some media savvy seems to anger some on our board.

They said:

"Josh never wins against top-25 teams"

He's now beaten 6

"Pastner can't win NCAA games"

He's now won 2

At some point, folks have to stop hating on Coach P.

Most of the dislike on this board is not towards Coach P... It's against the posters who look down their noses (all 2 inches of it) down towards CUSA.

CUSA is under-appreciated...

USM, LA Tech, MTSU, UTEP, Charlotte, UAB, ODU, WKU (not in any order)...CUSA is Rodney Dangerfield...No Respect!

JMHO.

JMHO.

Probably the best lineup of bball schools since the first realignment that had UL, UC, Marquette, St Louis, et al leave.

Thanks RUNVSFD, greatly appreciated. The respect is mutual for you and the very large and vocal Miner fan base.

And the original "lineup" had the benefit of basketball-only schools, who SHOULD do better in bball.

Oddly, I still find myself living vicariously through the tigers during NCAA tournament time. Old habits, and all that.

I'm pulling for an eventual Memphis / UT matchup. That would be sweet. Go Tigers and Vols!

I still feel that sometime in the near future, Southern Miss will be joining us in the AAC. When Golden Eagle football starts pummeling C-USA again (and they will), they will be on the clock.

I've always felt that USM and Memphis were cut from the same cloth and should be in the same league. BTW, I also think UTEP basketball would help the AAC tremendously, but we all know Houston and SMU would scream bloody murder.
