Believe it when I see it Dan. Watching the tourney virtually all of these low majors have
really good guard play also.

I'm excited about next year. Ready to see what a year of strength and conditioning can do for Johnson and Cappy. Excited to get a first look of Morman.
Really stoked to see a frontcourt of DeBerry, Strickland, Moore, and Mr. Clark.
Anticipating a much improved and healthy Jermaine Lawrence.
And awaiting Guyn and Sanders to step up their game as seniors.
Wondering if Shaq Thomas will stop chomping popcorn for a half and play 40 minutes of basketball, because I have yet to see a defender that can stop him.

When Mick comments on Thomas it usually has to do with how nice a guy he is and how that hurts him on the court. Next season seems like they are trading leadership and determination for a higher potential upside in basketball talent. Guyn, Sanders, and Thomas will probably still be role players; however, I expect to see improvement. The players that should make the biggest leap will be the current group of freshmen based on the fact that their playing time should increase. At the end of the day Mick probably got the most of our a roster that was down three players early in the year.

Both of these guys can be really good players, they look the part

these 2 are critical, if the freshmen are playing that is trouble

hope so, fingers crossed

I think they are what they are at this point, role players

I think he could have a high ceiling
Do we have 2 spots to fill, what does the staff look for?

16 missed layups. I also heard on the radio yesterday that we had 16 offensive rebounds that only yielded 5 points. That one-handed flip shot that JJ used a few times was hideous. Still disappointed.

Agree with all of this. Superfly has a point about Clark/Moore, but those two have been playing at a high level in HS. I don't see a huge adjustment.
I think they'll both be behind Lawrence anyway. JL will be fine. He just needs to get more comfortable. He was beginning to turn the corner a little bit when his injury hit. And, when he came back, not only did he have to basically start over, he had to do so against the tougher part of our schedule (UConn three times, at SMU and UL and Memphis at home). Just needs more muscle. He'll get it done.

I find it hard to buy into the missed layup micro cause for this loss. It wasn't like there were no defenders between UC and the rim on most of those attempts. I chuckled remembering back to an earlier team where one of our bigs had a problem missing layups (those were missed layups).
It seems obvious to me with an offensive efficiency rating in the 100's that we are just grazing the periphery of a bigger problem that needs to be solved (offensive efficiency). Different day, another reason for offensive struggles.
In any event, I never would have thought at the beginning of the year 27 wins would be possible. Lets get this offense thing figured out, and with our defensive prowess we are in business.
Go Cats.

I would argue that inability to score easy hoops is a major reason for our offensive inefficiency. Besides not making layups our 4/5 guys couldn't hit outside 5 feet so you could help off them and clog the lanes prevent driving lanes for others.
Our offensive struggles from 4/5 was IMO the primary driver of our offensive problems.
