That winning streak is timely. For whatever reason, I think if you put together a streak it rockets you through the polls faster than the same number of wins and losses spread out whereas RPI/RSI don't care.

Just back from the game. FAU's pitcher was tough. Good control, threw 90 mph, and left handed. Rice defense was solid and Zech threw a lot of unhittable pitches. All in all, a fine victory, although contributed by a really weirded FAU defensive lapse that won't show up in the box score.

That was an amazing brain freeze by FAU that gifted us our first run. Completely forgetting there was 2 outs they instead try to get Byrd in a run down between 2nd and 3rd when all they had to do was go to first. Byrd did a good job of just standing still at first then let them run him back to second then back towards 3rd before being tagged out and allowing the run to score.
Zech was consistently 93-94 with his FB and his CB to RH'ers was especially nasty throwing it right at their hip and having it break over the inside corner. Nice job by JC to keep the FAU hitters off balance.
