Down goes Duke... hehehehe as an SU fan, as a UNC grad, and as a North Carolina resident who hates the arrogance --- even though it busted my bracket, I gotta say, I started rooting for Mercer in the second half after a tv shot of Coach K looking nervous. You talk crap about preference towards schools in conferences like yours and others not really belonging, well you better deliver - and he couldn't AGAIN... is the magic disappearing?

Mercer has been really good for more than a few years now. They'll be a tough out.

My guess would be...

They look beyond their first round competition, because their coach doesn't take them seriously... I say that given Coach K's recent conference preference and level of competition comments on bids and seeding.

Concentrate on your team. Not on the number of teams the A-10 might send to the NCAAs.

The announcers said there are 7 seniors on that team. Perfect time to peak.

Coach K in an interview saying Parker played like a freshman(badly) today.... good job protecting your player! He didn't need to throw the kid under the bus.

He isn't the only one saying this. Parker is very talented but is still learning a ton, particularly on the defensive end. I don't think that's a slap in the face. I think it is being honest about where he is in his development as a player. Very good offensively but in this game he and others fell in love with a jump shot that was not falling and no one adapted. Not K, not the players on the floor.

This is the risk/reward of taking on any one-n-done player. They are extremely talented, but you have a finite amount of time with them to improve them. And the player's mind may be elsewhere when it is expected that they won't be sticking around.
