$30 for my 3 kids to eat 1/2 of a hot dog each share a bottle of water then be hungry/thirsty again 2hr later while the Huskie Bowl is going on...I know its a kind of fundraiser but maybe we will pass. If it was like the Tailgating Cookoff 2 years ago then it would be a bit more worth it but if Fatty's potato salad and hotdogs/brats is the feature then that's not getting me in the tent.

I will definitely come to check out "The Yard" though.

Last year - and I believe this year is the same - Fatty's and the HAF tent were actually next to each other under the same tent. The music, while not terrible, was so loud that very few people in the donor tent could hear each other talking. It got to be so bad, that we just gave up trying to talk and left the tent area so we could chat with friends and the people who came with us. We will probably do the same this year. I assume that my group will be spending very little time in the tent area.

Agree....I hate to sound like a 03-old but when you cant have a conversation with folks it defeats the purpose of having a "get-together".

HuskieInfo if you're out there...if you could cover that in rehearsal..05-duck

+100

I thought having everything under one tent was horrible. You couldn't hear the person next to you and here are the major donors trying to have conversations. I certainly hope they change this for next year.

The band (in the fall) will be on a stage at one end of the Yard near the large screen set-up where we will have football on - so not inside the tent, same with the DJ - he will be in his own area outside of the tent for the Huskie Bowl. For the Huskie Bowl, the only food is Fatty's but in the fall, we will have multiple vendors selling food in the Yard along with the beer garden. The Champion's Club (Huskie Athletic Fund tent) will not be open to all. It's a new concept for NIU tailgating. To see a projected layout of the Yard, you can click here

I rather see the Yard and the parking areas flipped. The Yard should be next to the stadium.

Last year we didn't even go into the tent any more than just myself to quickly glance at the auction items because it was too loud for my kids.

I am sure the people donating $2500+ per year disagree.

They get the privilege of being next to the Yard which should be a natural extension of the Fan area next to the stadium.
