Just heard a rumor (yes just a rumor) from a family member of a university employee that NIU will be changing names to UNI. I don't buy it, but figured its the offseason and that NIUFilmaker needs some fun.

Actually, there are several more Lincoln Universities including Missouri, Pennsylvania, California, New Zealand, etc. plus Lincoln colleges, Lincoln Tech. The name seems to be heavily used.

Wont happen, the college football world knows NIU...if anything they may start to push the NIU more.

How about just University? Seems simple. :)
