Marshall needs to go 13-1 in order to be ranked in the Top 25. And even that would be cutting it very close.

AFAIAC, the minimum number is 8 in the regular season, plus 1 post season.

I just want a shred of hope that we won't be completely outmatched in all areas our first year in CUSA.

I am hoping for our first winning season, and perhaps some upset wins against Coastal Carolina and JMU. I have confidence that Lambert and Co. will have the team trending in the right direction so we can be semi competitive our first year in CUSA.

At least 7. It's a rebuilding year for us, but 7 or 8 wins is definitely a good season despite that. We have good talent, it's just unproven right now.

You guys should have a really good season.

CUSA needs a team to run the table and reach the top 25. Marshall, that team is you. This year.

I'd like to see 8 for Charlotte. If we can get there, especially with games against quality FCS teams like The Citadel, CCU, JMU, Charleston Southern etc...I'll feel alot better about our chances of being able to compete in 2015.

I'm expecting 2-4 wins next year for FIU..... 3 wins would be a clear step in the right direction and a definite improvement over last season.

We will go to a bowl this year. At 6 and 6 that's bowl eligible and we'll reach that. Book it.

3-5 is reasonable for USM next season, but success? At least 6 wins or it is NOT a success. Losing is never success.

I'm guessing ODU gets 3 or 4 wins in its first full CUSA season, but am hoping for 5 wins. So 4 would be success and 5 would be pretty good, 6 and I am ecstatic. The scheduling Gods were not kind to the Monarchs. We start with Rice on the road and then MTSU and Marshall after that at home. Then UTEP, WKU and Vandy on the road before we face FIU at home. I would hope to beat FIU in Norfolk, but who knows how injuries and fatigue could affect us by then. If we had FIU, UAB and UTSA early at home things may have been different.

UTSA will challenge for the conference title...

Please explain this to me. Is Charlotte on some kind of "half and half" (FCS/FBS) plan in 2014? If so, when does Charlotte fully integrate into CUSA?

Agreed. I'd actually be just as happy if the Southside Boys were actually competitive this year.

Somehow, I don't think that'll be a problem.

I'll say 8. 7 would be OK, but 8 would be a success.

It is reasonable to think he loses the tough road games at Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Marshall. Winning the other non-conference games (at Army and Hawaii) and five of the seven C-USA (other than at Marshall) and bowling is our minimum expectation.

This. Back-to-back-to-back bowls for the first time in the 102 year history of our program is the goal, and I think we can do it.
