I graduated from UConn in 2005...I am surprised by how much SAT's have been pushed up over the years.

Easier than it used to be.

In regards to the average Cincinnati SAT, I would imagine the sample size is low as most people in the midwest take the ACT.

I understand that regarding the MidWest and West...what are the benefits of ACT versus the SAT? I ask because out here I have never known anyone to take the ACT.

Since graduating, I try to stay away from the halls of macadamia.

I think it comes down to preference. ACT has a science section and has more advanced math concepts. The ACC Writing Test also does not count towards y9our composite score. If you are an individual who is more geared towards the sciences/math I think you would want to take the ACT.

The ACT has more subjects...so, you don't just blow by messing up math or verbal (or for the time, the essay). More athletes take the ACT...I think it's easier to achieve the cutoff score on it than the SAT. I took both and have mixed feelings. I did pretty well on both but, prefer the SAT, before they added that stupid 3rd part, which is going away...or becoming optional.

Thats because SAT max scores went from 1,600 to 2,400 a few years ago.

SAT Officials just announced that the essay part will not be required in the future...so they will be going back to the 1,600 max score (800 on each).

RE: OT: The UK Times Rankings
I thought the SAT was easier than the ACT when I took them almost 20 years ago. My scores showed the same.
