hope we don't get stuck playing sjsu, they are not any good. Western Michigan is in the tourney this year, but they will lose their top 2 scorers who account for 50% of their points. The other 2 no names (san diego and long beach st) did okay this year and return pretty much all of their players.

This is a good tournament. I watch it every year during the break.

The other plus is that it's not in a gambling city. LOL

Long Beach State was pretty good a few years ago they may be on their way back up. San Diego is playing the CIT this year so they could be on the rise as well.

Washington and Xavier are perennially solid teams.

Looks like a really good group to be a part of and winnable.

Solid field, wonder if USM is taking note?

It's a winnable tournament, who knows how good Xavier and Washington will be.

Good excuse to plan a Disneyland/UTEP Basketball trip in Anaheim.

We did the Legends "mini-tournament" last year... We beat Georgia (who a lot of teams thought would be decent, but they fell flat on their face), UC Irvine (mid level) and Sam Houston State and LIberty (ugh). But we only took it to face off with Georgia I think.

this past year Hall of Fame Classic with Depaul (like Georgia, who fell flat on their faces), ND State (A good game) and then saddled with South Alabama and Houston Baptist (and barely escaped HB).

The BVI... well, let's say I hope we never go back to that one until they straighten things out (it almost got cancelled during the season)

Hasn't been announced yet, but I believe we're slotted to play in the SWAC/Southland challenge with Lamar, Houston Baptist, Mississippi Valley and Grambling. 03-thumbsup

Just win the tournament. When we get in winnable tournaments, we have to win them and prove ourselves, especially our top teams. When we get in unwinnable tournaments, we need to pull an upset and prove ourselves anyway, like Charlotte did against Michigan.

We've gotta step up as a conference and win the big games, especially those on a neutral court.

I'm pretty sure NDSU wasn't in the tournament.

Two years ago, we beat Georgia on their home court. Because of the format, Georgia automatically advanced and played Indiana the next game. We don't need any part in these tournaments. They kill us and don't give us an opportunity to play the big boys if we win.

I agree. The tournaments where they pre-determine who plays in the championship rounds are garbage.

Agreed, that was the Legends Classic tournament (i misread the warren nolan listing, cause it listed all four of the games as Legend Classics (just in different locations))

    Georgia     15 - 17     62 - 60     W
Legends Classic - Huntsville, TX

    Sam Houston State     14 - 17     61 - 49     W
Legends Classic - Huntsville, TX
4     Tue, Nov 20, 2012     Final     136     vs

    UC Irvine     19 - 16     69 - 65     W
