NCAA Play-in Games
Congrats to Albany. A good friend of mine is an alumnus.

As for the Xavier game. I have not seen defense this poor in awhile.

Not much brings more joy around here. What will the Enquirer print now?

Only thing that would make this better is if Christon declared for the draft in the post game interview.

Someone guard the locker room water fountains, please!

Also, Mike Gottfried just straight up called them "Ecks-avier." The guy just ran a train all over them and then he butchers their name. Love it.

If it wasn't for Notre Dame choking two years ago and Duke losing to a 15 we might have been talking about four very average seasons under Mack. Other than getting hyped to play the Bearcats his track record in big games isn't all that great.

RE: NCAA Play-in Games
I like the fact that there are some teams you'd recognize in the first four this year. Was always tough to get excited about middle nowhere states fighting for the right to get crushed by Syracuse or something.

I like it better when it involves X getting smacked around by ACC Sean Kilpatrick (sorry TJ, that's your name now).

Love watching X get smoked by a team we beat by 11. SMU should have been in over Eggsavier. I hope the Selection Committee looks at this and realizes how weak the Big East is, especially with perennial bottom feeder Providence winning the Big East Tournament! Suck it Eggsavier!

How does those 2 games change anything? He took over a machine from Thad Matta and Sean Miller and had a very good first year as a result. I think he is a fine coach. Nothing special, but not bad. But he has run the program way down and did so pretty quickly.

In his defense his predecessor built his team on low character guys like Holloway and Lyons, and after those guys left X kicked out their next best player. I actually think he's done a good job bringing them back quickly.

Like everyone here I hate X, but I won't bang on Mack too much. They certainly have struggled with consistency, but they do have a nice class coming in, I wouldn't write them off yet.

RE: NCAA Play-in Games
It was probably the first time this season that I watched an entire X game. Clearly, NC State had better, more athletic players so unlike the X fans, I don't blame coaching. I'm glad UC caught the Wolfpack early in the season for a great victory.

Regarding that heralded incoming class at X, I'm betting some don't qualify. My guess is they took chances for great athletes with questionable academic/character credentials that P5 schools quietly passed on. Players want national exposure on ESPN and I still believe that FOXSports1 will diminish the visibility and prestige of the new Big East for years to come.
