Please forgive me for breaking this number 2 pencil, wowww just wowww, if there was ANY Concern for season ticket holders you would develop a non-conf football schedule. Unless protection means creating as crappy of a product as possible to keep prices "dirt cheap". Last time I checked there was not a high demand for dirt.

Stopping the last min single game discount nonsense was a must if the program is to grow. Too many NIU fans were trained to wait until the last min to buy and only then if the weather is just right or no other plans came up.

Season tickets are going up around 10% and since they didn't go up last year I don't think that is unreasonable.

I will be happy to pay it. I can still bring my whole family for the price of a ticket to see tOSU in my home town. In my mind it is a great value for a live sporting event.

you're a diehard of course you will. I am skeptical (highly) that this will do anything to attract fringe fans.

Fair enough but we can't have it both ways. If NIU wants to become a big time program it takes resources and a fan base that is ready and willing to help support the program with ticket prices that are still les than the prices charged by conferences that many on this board aspire to.

Alum, you might be right (you probably are) and it is so disappointing to me when I think about the quality of our program and what it can become with better support and slightly higher ticket prices. I support at least making the effort.

Parking prices for premium lots have increased, especially movie lot which makes sense so close to HS. I don't get the value of the water tower lots. They are $60 and just as far away as the convo lot.

If those in charge of NIU athletics program send signals that we want to become the next Illinois State, that does not inspire donations and willingless to buy season tickets. I cant blame any casual fan for not buying tickets, there is no reason to, there is nothing being built here, why invest in something you don't feel like has a future. To become a bigger program, the commitment has to start from the top and trickle down. We were on that path circa 2004, but we had a change in leadership that put a halt to the growth. Thus, we have a smaller season ticket base now than we did in 2004. That doesn't bode well.

RE: 2014 season ticket info
I think the parking would have been better if there were 3 levels for that last top level.

$2500 - West Lot (previously $1000 minimum donation)
$1000 - East Lot (previously $750 minimum donation)
$600 - New Track Lot

Making all 3 at the $1000 level just seems not right.

If I was a C&B donor at $300 it seems very unlikely to donate $700 more to get to the next parking level...but if the next level was $600 then that would be at least possible to donate $300 more.

I'm all in. It could be a great money maker. Imagine what you could charge if you get to spend a night in the actual racquetball court that he used to call home for the ten games that he was here!

Your post is spot on. I agree with everything you stated.

I donate at a level much higher than the minimum to get into the former Victory lot. Now, for the same donation, I may get put in the East lot? Does not make sense to me. But, I'll reserve final judgment until I am assigned a lot/space.

HE'S BEEN HERE ONE YEAR YOU USUALLY SCHEDULE OOC GAMES MULTIPLE YEARS IN ADVANCE. BAYLOR JUST SCHEDULED AN OCC FOR 2019.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yep Baylor just scheduled an OOC in 2019 vs University of the Incarnate Word.

Their AD is in his 11th year. SF has been here less than 11 months.

I honestly thought that was a joke...oh my. Football program is 7 years old.

The University of the Incarnate Word announced Monday that it has scheduled a 2019 game against the Bears in Waco.

I don't think you have even a basic understanding of college football scheduling and it's laughable that you think you are qualified to criticize every other aspect of an athletic department. The shitstorm you're creating with these posts is worse than anything Frazier said today. Unfortunately the people that know you outside of this message board probably generalize NIU fans based on your blabbering. Quit spouting idiotic statements and making us all look stupid in the process.

Yeah me too. My point of course was directed to MD02. Even he may not have a comeback for this...but those who are delusional usually come up with something.

I know the tailgating atmosphere has always been a problem the last few years, especially when you compare it to 2004, 2005 etc... I obviously haven't been to a game in a while, so is the new parking going to effect that at all on the East lawn? I thought they allowed general tailgating for anyone on the East lawn last year.

Last year the East lot was allocated 50% donors of $750-$999 and 50% students.

Some of the students bought annual parking passes while the rest of the student spaces were open for the students for FREE.

Also last year the old movie lot was allocated AROUND 50% for donors of $175-299 and 50% for people willing to pay $20 cash on game day.

This year the old movie lot is going to 100% for donors of $300-$599.

Like it was in 2012 for 2014 the closest a non-donor can park is in the Convo lot.

There is no real information on the club seating here. I would assume (hope) that will be sent with the packets.

Interesting. And the west side tickets can't be used on the East side anymore. I always wondered how that worked or how they allowed that.

$25 tickets still available for some areas, and there aren't any bad seats. Most are going to pay $25 though and figure there will be empty seats in better sections.
