This year has been way too obvious. The politics have gotten out of hand. When a whining little baby like Coach K can get a completely unworthy NC State men's team into the tourney, you know the system is broken. Hell, some NC State fans have admitted that they didn't deserve to be in the NIT, much less the NCAA tourney.

Maybe I can't see the forest for all the trees, but it's hard to imagine another institution that is disrespected as much as we are.

Even when we actually do something noteworthy it's a fluke or an outlier.

A 17 RPI ranked in the top 25 should have gotten no worse than a five seed regardless of the name on the front of the jersey. What a joke college sports is becoming or perhaps has always been. I don't even pay much attention to the women's game and can recognize that's beyond ridiculous. They were freaking 8-4 against the top 100 with two of the four losses to top 10 teams. Wow. Feel bad for them. Maybe they can use this as motivation.

I was hoping Southern Miss. would get in the women's NCAA Tourney. I really do not see how they could have been overlooked.

Go get'em wherever you guys go. Good Luck.

USM was in the First Four Out. Probably a 1 seed in the WNIT.

I was very disappointed for the MUTS girl team, I was really thinking and shocked that it wasn't lower. I honestly believe that Insell will have you guys ready and beat South Carolina! Do good and win.

espn's Charlie Creme, apologist for the power conferences and their wholly owned subsidiary, the ncaa selection committee:

...The fact Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech were awarded at-large berths, and teams such as Bowling Green, South Dakota State, Minnesota, Southern Mississippi and South Florida were excluded, tells us this: Beating other tournament-level competition is tantamount to being an at-large. The committee declared that last year in its selection of Kansas and remained consistent with that refrain on Monday. Schedules are important. Winning against that schedule is more important. It was not a good day for non-BCS conference schools, but the better teams made the field...

If the NCAA is taking that stand, then they ought to mandate these teams play us home and home, and then we will find out if "The better teams are in tbe tourney"

Obviously, the system is completely rigged against the G5 and no matter the sport you run into the politics and spin of the P5 run NCAA. It's a glass ceiling for sure and until the G5 puts together a Strategic Plan to combat the inherent unfairness we face, it will never change.

No reason a team with #17 RPI should be a #8 seed, especially with our OOC and conference schedule. We played teams that we needed to play and we beat them, and there is literally no other reason for such a low seed other than the fact that we're in CUSA.

These "selection committees" should be called "Power Conference committees". Hosed beyond recognition.

MT being 8th seed is equal or perhaps worse than USM ladies being left out.
The bias is so blatant now, they don't even try to hide it anymore.

The bright side is that in women's basketball there is not much difference in an 8 seed and a 4 seed. There are less than 8 dominant women's teams. What matters is who is the 1 seed in your bracket. You are in the easiest bracket so you have a chance to make noise.

I hate wvu, but their women got screwed. They are a 2 seed and they will likely have to play LSU in Baton Rouge in the second round. If they win then they get to go play the 3 seed, Louisville, in Louisville.

Yep. Our chances are good for doing things we need to do to gain recognition and respect. That starts by beating (hopefully handily) Oregon State and then getting the W against South Carolina... 04-rock
