Jay Bilas Bracket Breakdown
Thought this was interesting...

Quote:Memphis over George Washington: The Colonials have transfers Maurice Creek and Isaiah Armwood in addition to Patricio Garino and Kethan Savage, but it will not be enough to beat four senior guards and big guys Austin Nichols and Shaq Goodwin. Memphis wins, and Josh Pastner will anoint George Washington as one of the top five teams to ever play the game.

I love Josh... but when the media starts saying stuff like this, it's time to get a new "schtick".

Also, does anyone else think Michigan St and Louisville are getting WAY too much credit all of a sudden? It could happen, but I just don't see it.

I agree with Bilas we beat George Washington. I don't mind Pastner's approach to the media really. If you win it doesn't matter.

Michigan St. and Louisville get a lot of credit because they have coaches who have a tendency of producing big in post season. It also doesn't hurt they just ran rough shot over their conference in their tournaments.

Always a good thing to have the national media making fun of your head coach.

the fact coach P is a nice guy who's has no dirt hidden in the closet seems to drive the media crazy.

People aren't "angry" at him. They are just making fun of him out of lack of respect. Like John Rothsteing saying straight to Pastner's face "maybe you will get some new material for the 14-15 season."

RE: Jay Bilas Bracket Breakdown
I think Josh "does" do this all on purpose most of the time, but then he comes out with the stuff he said last night. He definitely listens to us all, and we just keep on feeding it, but then when he gets "really" ticked off over something he lashes out.

I'm sure I'd be the same way though. If you are an "eternal optimist" as they say he is, I'm sure all the "negativity" would drive me crazy as well.

But then again, Bilas making fun of him in a national article for it isn't "good".

Or like Seth Davis looking Cal in the eye and saying "tell us the 'For Sale sign' story again, coach" while rolling his eyes.

Difference is folks around here got giggly every time Cal spoke...

For the most part Cal was coherent. Even his paranoid delusions had a theme.

Saying CUSA is a multiple bid league or that bumblepuck U. is "a great team and well coached" invites ridicule.

I think he does too, but evidence suggest he is too stubborn to change even when told his current approach is ineffective.

No, I agree with them. Let's see.... 2 HOF coaches. Both previous National Champs. Both teams were Final Four Last year. Both teams are playing their best basketball of the year right now.

I have both picked to advance to the Final Four this year, and picked the cards to repeat as National Champs.
