Norfolk State finished 19-14, 11-5 in the MEAC.

They're pretty big, with a 7 footer of their own. Riley will have his hands full.

Looks like their best win is over RPI-84 Boston U. Played Virginia tough in a 10 point loss. But other than that, seems like they didn't have any outstanding success.

Norfolk St has a horrible RPI. Surprised they are picked. But third in their conference, and some interesting components on their team at center and point guard.

Surprised Buffalo is not in a tournament. Would've thought they would be worthy of CBI...wondering if they were thinking the same and were holding out. Only to get snubbed.

glad the team will be around for at least one more game. These guys played hard and have earned it.

i'm surprised (and happy) that we ponied up for a home game. does anyone know how the finances work out for this? i saw someone mention $20,000 in one thread.

Looks like we have the highest RPI in the tournament. Ohio is right behind us.

If we win, they determine the second round matchups with geographical interest, which they seem to emphasize for the entire tournament...although I'm not sure how a team from Norfolk, Virginia ends up coming to Ypsilanti. But we may have another home game if we win.

I've seen $30-35k for CBI/CIT homegames.

Congrats to the boys. Glad they get a chance to continue play.

They do deserve so, considering they have played their butts off to this point. Hopefully they can make a run out of this...

Im glad we get a charnce to prove our worth. Especially at home. I hope we get a solid turn out at this game.

This is what we deserve (like it or not) and its time for us to show what we are made of. Rep for the conference

Very winnable game.

Also, I'm impressed that EMU is buying the home game. Good sign for the program.

And seems to contradicts Super's claim that we couldn't afford to (buy a home game).

A booster paid for it just like the buses, duh! And it was a lot cheaper than an NIT.

If this is true then our next thread should be "Who is the mystery booster".

I'm glad we got a post season game, I'm disappointed it wasn't a NIT or CBI bid I felt the schedule we played deserved more respect. Congrats I look at my schedule and see if I can attend. Thank you to the booster who ponied up the cash. Maybe it was Earl B/?

There are just as many teams percentage wise going post tournament game as football bowl games thus making pretty much meaningless!

I'm not at familiar with the CIT. Are these games televised by anybody and there is a payout for the schools?

Not sure about the payout, but I do know that the semi finals and finals are televised by CBS sports network
