And yet the Dance Card, which predicts what the committee will do by analyzing what past committees have done, would have seeded

Louisville 5
UConn 5
Cincy 6
Memphis 9

and they had SMU out of the Dance.

So maybe we didn't get hosed. Maybe we got almost exactly what teams with our resumes got in the past.

I'm fine with UCONN's seeding/placement. I don't like that we'e in a region with 2 other AAC teams, but the fact that we stay in NY and have winnable games the first weekend is fine by me.

I think going forward we will probably be a 2-3 bid conference. Need to schedule up in OOC

(Still better than CUSA for those of us who are new)
(Sucks most to be UConn and Cincy who are taking a huge it in conference strength)

So maybe all these people who think going 12-0 in the MAC will automatically beat out a 11-1 AAC team might just be wrong next December. Keep in mind, SMU was ranked #25 in the polls and didn't make a 64 team field. This is the way football is going to be next year---throw out everything you think you know about the BCS rankings. Its very likely to be irrelevant.

Louisville lack of non-conference success and SOS hurt the entire league because it puts a cap on the on the schools seed.

1. Having friends on the committee, nobody should be shocked that the last group of teams in the tournament came from leagues that had people on the committee.

2. Putting a Mountain West guy in charge of the American's report was not going to end well. The MWC champ and the American champ received an equal seed. (Although Louisville is a defacto one in my view, not Wichita State)

3. You have to schedule well outside of the league. You don't have to win every one of those games but you need to at least play them.

Our stadium was still under construction and no quality team wanted to go to a high school gym 30 minutes from campus. Our first game at home was a conference game. We will get a better OOC next year.

if we had a representative on the committee they might have reminded everyone that we had NO home games until Jan 1 - due to our Moody construction.

I don't like how Louisville will have to play Wichita State right off the bat and everyone else is dumped in one region. (East) THREE in one, limits the conference for making more revenue.

Everyone in the same region doesn't bother me. It gives the league there chances to get a final four team out of the East. I just angry that UC plays a Thursday morning game in Spokane.

Luckily they have an even longer trip and your defense will give them all sorts of offensive troubles, but still not the most ideal first game...

You earn more than twice the RPI points/multiplier (1.4) playing non-conf road games as you do home games (0.6).

ESPN says SMU out, NC State in because of road wins by NC State.

...Wellman said NC State getting three road wins against top 50 teams was a deciding factor.

Aac teams were seeded appropriately by committee's stated and known criteria. I'd haved taken smu over nc state because nc state resume is not resounding either...however, committee consistently kills teams for bad nonconference sos...whatever the reason or circumstances were is irrelevant.

Louisville not enough good wins. teams ahead them have simply accomplished more to date. ul was also top 4 seed and got a great draw (I was praying that spot was for uc right before they announced u of l. btw uc is top 5 seed. I may have had them a spot or two hire but that's a fair enough rating.

More I look at it, less of a screw job SMU looks to be. That OOC scheduling was way more awful than I originally thought. And they were a totally different team away from Moody. Committee doesn't like home darlings who are mediocre at best away from home. Close call but don't wet themselves in those 3 awful losses and none of this matters.

I knew SMU was in trouble. My biggest concern is they should have applied the same criteria to Arizona State, Kansas State, and Iowa.
