GW beat Creighton, that is about all we need to know. They are on a serious roll recently mowing down all the A10 teams that made the tournament. They played their way in over the last few weeks.

Virginia isn't gonna be a walk in the park. They could push us around and we don't do well with teams like that.

Of course, that's even if we get past GW which is far from a guarantee.

They are a 1 seed for a reason. If we get past GW beating Virginia would be a HUGE upset.

And I thought we could be Ucon 1 out of 3 times. With two of those games on our home floor! I'm highly skeptical.

I don't know much about GW but I've seen Virginia enough to know that UV is good defensively but we got an advantage on the inside if with Austin and Shaq play well. Got to Guard Virginia screens for 3's and we got a good chance

GW is going to be a very tough one, but its our limit.
We wont get passed UVA.

Dont forget people, this game is being held in North Carolina.
Not far from UVA at all, with them being the #1 seed and having the crowd.

Its michigan state all over, but even worse.

They have to beat GW first to get to Virginia and with this team nothing can be taken for granted.......

The committee really motivated some teams this year. Not so sure that was their intent.

RE: Not bad...
I know nothing about GW but I suspect we'll have better overall athletes than the Colonials.

If we can win the first round, I honestly like our chances against Virginia.

I went to the Tennessee-Virginia game in Knoxville in late December with a UT buddy, and the Vols absolutely beat them down defensively. (Former Tiger A. Barton also hit a half-court shot that counted at the first-half buzzer.)

I realize the Cavs have improved immensely since then. I'm just saying I like our chances if we can make it past GW.

Virginia's guards are great. They do not turn the ball over and Memphis loses most games in which they dont get points off turnovers.

Horrible matchup, imo. Gotta beat GW first, tho.

Sheesh!! I know that but I'm talking about what I have seen. I don't know enough about GW to make a comment on their plus or minuses. Get over yourself

Agree! Tigers don't have the mental toughness to compete on a consistent high level. Maybe one game, maybe... I hate it, but it is what it is. IF we get by GW, Virginia will have the way with us, just like Ucon etc.

I hope we win the first game. UVA has great guard play. If our guards show up defensively we'll have a shot at a massive upset.

We have problems with teams that guard inside the arc well. GW is not one of those teams. They rank 126th in the country in defensive 2PT percentage

Agreed. Probably couldn't ask for a better scenario.

And Raleigh means it's drivable too, not West Coast.

I agree with this. But honestly, of all the #1s we could face, probably the best draw. I didn't want to see the Shockers or UF again.

I agree. Best possible #1.

Odd. We know we can play w/Uf. Arizona plays uptempo.

Uva...plays in the 50's. Ugh.

This is a team that beat Wisconsin 48-38 earlier in the season.
