Eye test
Apparently one of the committee members said today that the eye test is very important.

First let me say that the "Eye test" is one of the dumbest criteria to use. The eye test requires the committee to predict what a team is going to look like next week.

Secondly we are screwed if this is true

Ehh..depends on whether or not they are near sighted as opposed to far sighted or vice versa.

RE: Eye test
Out of all the teams contending for tourney slots, how can they possibly watch all the games? If they do indeed use this as part of their criteria, some production assistant or something would have to put together a "highlight reel" as it were for each team. We have some spectacular highlights this season, and some of the most groan-producing lowlights ever. But there's no doubt in my mind that when we play like an elite team, we look like an elite team. The "eye test" should therefore be in our favor. IMO.

Pitino was quick to imply they would be a #1 seed, passing the eye test in his post game interview with Katz.

We have enough good eye test games this year, but UCONN, Cincy and Houston games stink.

Gotleib said it best: "The problem with [the eye test]. When did you see them? It becomes subjective based on when you see them." Completely agree

If Louisville is a #1 seed...I'll become a soccer fan.
Since that aint happening though...I don't think I have anything to worry about.

RE: Eye test
how many times do you think "eye test" will be used during ESPN's analysis of the bracket tonight?

I came on just start a thread and post about this "eye test" comment but you beat me to it . We will not be looked upon favorably in this area and honestly I do not blame the committee . The way we played last game makes me wonder if our players need an eye exam .07-coffee3

RE: Eye test
Depends on what they mean by "eye test."

A) Physically watching the teams play
B) Scanning the resume with their eyes to locate BS top 50 rpi wins against fluff teams with good rpis.

And I assume they are talking about seeding. As far as the last couple of bubble teams that make it in, just reach into the big bag of poo and pull a few random crap teams out of the bag.

the "eye test" is just a way to rationalize your bias for or against a team

In our case, the eye test proves that you shake your head and contact a shrink at your earliest convenience.

RE: Eye test
Eye test is such a lazy standard. What have you done and where did you do it should be the only criteria. Those are easily quantifiable as well.
