Some years 4 I'm sure. CUSA did well with its MTSU add but still a 1-2 bid conference, 2 on a good year. Not saying it's fair.
And to the op: both teams deserve a bid over USM in that list.
You were saying??? The AAC was a solid 4 bid league and one of those is leaving. With Tulane, ECU and Tulsa inserted into Louisville's spot, each team's RPI will suffer a small setback. At least Rutgers and their near 200 RPI will be gone
Tulsa, Louisville, Cincy, UConn, Memphis...there's your 5 AAC teams
Stinks for USM and La Tech.
Louisville will be gone so you are back to 4 but there's only 3 solid every year. You have to realize UCF, USF, Tulane, ECU, and either Temple/Tulsa/Houston will bring the the top others (UC, UConn, Memphis) RPI down. You have no answer for losing UL's top 20 RPI.
Some of us in the AAC play a competitive schedule.
Memphis played OK State 2x, Florida, Gonzaga, as well as ranked conference brethren.
As long as Larry Brown is at SMU...they have a good shot moving forward...if/when he leaves...I fear they might revert backwards.
Still as long as Memphis can get the kinds of games we scheduled this season...losing Louisville won't hurt too badly...especially since they are going to schedule us again after the 2014 season.
