Maybe not the most talented team in the MAC, but the best balance, and that's what wins. Whittington is just amazing. Congrats to WMU

We're ecstatic, as it's been too long. If we follow our normal Bronco pattern, I may not be alive to see another WMU title. 03-old

But I hope that game put to rest any doubt about who is better.

Congrats. Better team won. Keep hitting 3s like that and they'll make some noise in the tournament.

Dominant performance tonight. Well earned. Brown was a beast in the tournament. Go on and do the MAC proud in the NCAA tournament.

98 points... Wow, here's to having a deep run, as long as you don't cross Sparty.

RE: Congrats, Broncoes.
Just got back from the Q- Western played really well- it was a great first half by both teams- but WMU was outstanding. I really think #2 Connor Tavie? is underrated- he is so skilled on drives to the hoop.

As a Clevelander one number I wasn't too happy with was 5,278- that was the attendance for tonight's final. WAY under any other year played on a Saturday (I think in the past 9K was about the lowest)

Toledo vs WMU is certainly not the top draw- BUT
1) It was the top 2 teams in the conference
2) Toledo was tops or second in home attendance and is just 2 hours away
3) If Kzoo is only 4 hours away

I am afraid this game has lost its place among the Cleveland calendar. While I think there is merit to this tournament set up for the teams- I think the old 8 to Cleveland- Thursday/Friday/Saturday was better for the weekend. I also think the loss of the STO contract hurt the local attendance- STO is a channel of choice in greater Cleveland- TWC (if you get it) not so much. I know college basketball in general is losing appeal. But I was shocked at how empty it was tonight (and yesterday with Akron in the semis only had 6,800). The tournament also lost its title sponsor with First Energy- it was presented by Barbasol- but it wasn't a title sponsor- Barbasol logo was not on the court. The MAC office has done a lot of good things over the last couple years- but I am worried this basketball tournament has lost its spot.

I'll say it again - the Huntington Center in Toledo would be great for the tournament - both men and women. Holds 8k for hockey, so could be 8,500-9,000 for basketball. Create a great atmosphere in a sold out arena.

RE: Congrats, Broncoes.
Kalamazoo is 4 to 4 1/2 hours away. It took the team over 11 hours to make that trip by bus because of an accident. They got in at 5:30 a.m. Friday morning and played Akron that night.

You knew that without Kent St., Ohio, or Akron in the final, it wouldn't draw as well. Nothing to really worry about, unless West teams make the final an all West event every year, which isn't going to happen.
