Congrats Tulsa. So does anyone think Southern Miss or LaTech have a shot at Dayton?

All week I have been under the belief that with the C-USA associate commissioner on the committee that a second C-USA team was a real possibility. This was probably their best possible scenario to get a second or third team in.

Congrats to Tulsa. If USF makes a good coaching hire then the American might have six or seven school fighting for the tournament every season. I don't think this league "needs" basketball only schools because the current roster will still be rather strong.

Louisiana Tech isn't getting an at-large bid. Period.

I don't think they deserve it but they do have more top 100 wins than SMU does. Their 14 road/neutral includes three in the top 100, Oklahoma, Saint Bonnie, and Southern Miss. SMU has one top 100 win on the road, UConn. Its not as clear cut as most people think.

Jay Coleman's Dance Card gives SMU a 92.44% chance of getting a bid and Louisiana Tech a 0.32% chance of getting a bid. LT has no top 25 RPI wins (SMU has 3) and LT has as many bad losses as SMU has.

Goodness grief. ECU beat La. Tech, so no; so short of winning CUSA outright La Tech is not a NCAA tournament team.

I am 100% certain that Tulsa is going to the dance !!

It has been a long 11 years for Tulsa. We are finally back, with a team with one senior & no juniors !

Its not just about losing it to La Tech. I just believe that SMU's profile isn't that great. They are true a bubble team sitting in one of the last spots at the moment; however, every year there are screwy mid-major teams that get spots and few undeserving major conference teams too. Usually it comes to who is in the room and what metric committee values more than others.

If you like non-conference SOS, road wins, overall RPI, then stay away from SMU. If you like conference record and really big victories than the Mustangs are your team.

It would be sad if a second C-USA school joined Tulsa, while SMU is left out. Remember Tulsa is leaving for the American, wouldn't it be nice if the C-USA associate commissioner allowed one of their returning teams into the tournament.

No, CougarRed has claimed twice today that Louisiana Tech was a candidate to steal SMU's bid if Louisiana Tech lost today. It won't happen.

@YahooForde 1h

Welcome to the 1988 flashback Big Dance: Larry Brown and Danny Manning are both in, albeit not together this time.

SMU is no where close to being a bubble team. They are solidly in the Dance.
