I've gained a ton of respect for MTSU and LA Tech over the last season. Always liked our rivalry with UTEP. C-USA has treated Tulsa well, happy to part giving you guys whatever boost we can. Yep, I want Tulsa to win simply to be altruistic to C-USA. 04-cheers

Nothing personal against Tulsa, but this is exactly why I hate conference tournaments. There are three teams with better records than Tulsa, but Tulsa will be our representative in the NCAA Tournament. It's senseless. Tulsa didn't win the regular season title, but now they are seen as our champions. What happened today has completely devalued what Southern Mississippi and Louisiana Tech did during the regular season. Tulsa isn't our best team, but they captured lightning in a bottle and are headed to the Big Dance. It's stupid. I really feel for USM and LTU, our two best teams.

Uhmn.. yeah they did, as did La Tech, USM, and MTSU. So you want to say the same thing about those other three teams if they had won?

wow, that was just an amazingly eneducated comment. I dont think I even need to post the contraditions to your comment. you'll obviously look them up yourself in a few minutes and realize what just happened.

Just curious why you will not root for them. Conf USA gets money and name recognition with Tulsa in the dance. It's still a win win for Conf USA.

Congrats Tulsa. Going to miss you guys the most.

I hadn't realized it has been as long as it has since you have been to the NCAA tourney. 2003?

Go do some damage!

Yes, It was back in our WAC days when we last went to the NCAAs. I think only UTEP & Rice (of current CUSA teams) remember Tulsa being a "basketball school" back then. We became a football school in CUSA. Hopefully, we can someday be both at the same time !

BTW, we're gonna miss UTEP, too. Our radio announcers mentioned how much they'll miss the Tulsa-UTEP football & basketball games on their post game show today, as well.

This post was senseless. Tulsa was CUSA co-champion of the regular season. Tulsa beat USM in our only meeting. We beat UTEP in our only meeting. We beat MTSU twice & we split with La Tech. Tulsa earned the championship on the court. This has more to do with Tulsa leaving than basketball.

Also, it isn't like they just made this rule up. It has been this way for close to 30 years.

BTW, Coach Manning in his postgame comments (on the AP story) said that he thought 3 other CUSA teams were worthy of NCAA bids. I agree.

CUSA money or not they are CUSA in name only. Not going to root against them but I don't really care if they win or lose. It would have been much better for CUSA if a new comer had won and got the bid.

Worthy and getting bids are two different stories. CUSA gets one bid, that the sad truth.

RE: Tulsa Champs of C-USA
Great for the American.
Bad for CUSA.

The talk about Tulsa in the tournament wont be any credit to CUSA with them being defector.

Next year UAB or USM needs to finally win, they are the only two left of the founding CUSA members, yet they have never won..

Every person to ever win the CUSA tournament has left CUSA.
Charlotte rejoined, and are the only team in the entire conference that has ever won the tournament.

Future looks decent.
WKU, MTSU, USM, & LTU are a good group of schools.

best of luck.

Charlotte, ODU and UAB just need to get back to where they once were and along with the schools you mentioned and CUSA should be a solid hoops conference.
