Maybe we could call that a broom handle? How many times has Will Rice pulled off the 1st/1st/2nd combo?

The one 2nd place simply makes our insufferable smugness sufferable.

Uh-huh, I got a broom handle for ya. Now why don't you just lean over and grab that penny…

I suggest you all change your mewling little chirps to: "Will Rice Didn't Sweep!!"

Our new anti-sweep chant: "Tic-Tac-NO!! JIBA for the block!!"

Jiba is a Jukunoid language of Nigeria.

Since when does a college that won one race out of three get to smack talk the one who won the other two?

The more important issue for me was jones was full of women compared to Weiss the one year I slummed there.

Jen Cooper used to have a website that documented a lot of the results, plus other facts around Beer Bike. I cannot find that site anymore.

I guess that would explain why Jones understands the meaning of the word "sweep."

Look, don't blame me for your college chant's overreach. I strongly advised WRC back in the day to go with something more reasonable like "Will Rice, Will Win One Or Two..." or "Will Rice, Will Race!"

But no. Will Rice wanted to get their Ruth on and point to centerfield. Fine. So whenever they smash home runs to left or right, I just laugh and laugh and laugh. Fools. Fools, I say! 'Cuz in a three-race competition, two races ain't no sweep, math whizzes. #suckit #willricedidntsweep #jiba

Beer Bike is fun and all, but a record of success there does not counterbalance the inferiority of the non-Wiess colleges. 03-razz

Is Beer Bike the Will Rice and Jones bowl game or something? 03-wink

Hate to say anything to augment the WRC guys' egos, but I say 35 some odd years is long enough - - time for some Beer Bike parity I say.

Just like the NCAA bans boosters from making payments to high school kids, we need to ban WRC alumni from recruiting thick-legged nerds who don't drive. 05-mafia

Will Rice will race, Will Rice will win.
Will Rice will race, Will Rice will win.
Will Rice will race, Will Rice will win.
Will Rice will sweep! And Jones will weep.

At least that's how I see things playing out next year. 03-wink

(and no, this year was only a 2 RBI triple to the wall, but I like the analogy!)

It was at http://www.jencooper.com/jencooper/statsgalore.htm but it appears she's let the domain registration lapse.

I used to check out that site all the time and I remember WRC had a lot of 'double crowns', particularly compared to other colleges since WRC won the alumni race ~90% of the time. If I remember correctly WRC only passed Brown for the most women's victories in the past few years, but that's in large part because for a long time only 2-4 colleges had women!

I checked with Jen, and the same info is still available. She just migrated it to her new website, buried in the middle of a bunch of soccer related content:

http://www.keepernotes.com/beerbike/statsgalore.htm

EDIT: See here for more complete info - http://keepernotes.com/beerbike/beerbike.htm
