Completely wrong.

Hmmm. Why do they call it the play-in game if you are already in?

People like you are why we have such a problem with lawyers in this country

what? is bernreuter the one that moved out of her parents house and then sued them for living expenses? that would explain a lot

When you fill out your bracket, take a close look at it. The play in game is a sub-bracket, the winner of which goes into the 64th slot of the main bracket.

I think that last year they had 4 "first round games" (we still call them "play in games") - one for each region- and not all 4 became 16th seed teams as the original ones did. Next week we will see how the brackets are set up for 2014.

They are first round games.

Not all the teams go to 16 seeds. They are playing for different seeds

Two of the winners become 16 seeds. They are athe auto bids from the two lowest rated conferences

The other two games are between the four lowest seeded at large teams. The two winners become 11 or 12 seeds

And been, TV has been advertising all dat that the NCAA tournament starts Tuesday, which is when the first of these games are played.

If someone doesn't follow basketball, college or pro, and they heard play in game then wouldn't be some what reasonable for them to think a "play-in" means you aren't in till you win the play-in game?
Just asking...or am I taking away the fun of dog piling on bern?

I haven't heard it routinely called a play-in game since the days of 65 teams. When they went to 68 in 2011, they called it the first round, with the round if 64 known as the 2nd
