Illegal alien to sue firefighters who rescued him
Welcome to America, land of free stuff.

Quote:Last week, Roy Ortiz's attorney filed papers showing that his client intends to sue several first responders who took part in rescuing Ortiz last September, when he became trapped in his car on a section of U.S. 287 during a flash flood.

The document, lists Boulder County sheriff's deputies, a member of the Westminster dive team, Broomfield and the North Metro Fire Rescue District as potential defendants.

On Sept. 12, Ortiz's vehicle was washed off the road, and the rushing waters flipped the car upside down.

It took North Metro Fire Rescue about two hours to bring Ortiz to safety.

Ortiz now claims that rescuers were negligent in their duty because they should have extracted him from his car faster.

His lawyer, Ed Ferszt, told 7 News Denver:

“Of course he was thankful because those divers did have a major role to play in saving his life that day. That doesn't negate the fact that a mistake may have been made. I can understand why there's a lot of furor over people thinking that he's biting the hand that feeds. Does that mean that officers of North Metro Fire are above reproach?”

““Well, well let's talk for a second about the divers. If divers went into the water in an attempt to locate Roy and they didn't see him there, as dangerous a job that it is -- and we are thankful for first responders, that was a mistake. And the legal term for that mistake is negligence," Ferszt added.”

Ortiz, who claims he is still suffering from shoulder pain, is seeking $500,000 in damages.

So, why is Ortiz suing?

UPI reported Ortiz as saying:

“Well, I'm happy. I'm really happy to be alive...But I'm looking for some help with my bills. I don't have the money to pay.””

On Fox News' "The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson," it was revealed that Ortiz is in the country illegally.

Yea, but I think the addition of the illegal alien part is or should be relevant or considered in any suit this asshat is trying to file.

This is part of what drives me nuts on the "immigration/amnesty" crap. We hear all to often, from both sides of the aisle that "we simply can't track down and round up 11 million people to deport them". So we have to do something, meaning grant them defacto amnesty.

We don't need to round up all 11 million, certainly not all at once, more certainly not in some massive kicking doors in, getting the trains full and running 24/7 with millions of people.

But this guy is sitting RIGHT THERE. He was on my freaking TV! Did no one else in law or immigration enforcement see that interview? Go pick his ass up. Seems pretty simple. As we find them, confirm they're here illegally, charge them with a crime and send their asses back. If they show up again, it's a short jail sentence and send their asses back again. Lather, rinse repeat. soon enough the time and expense of jumping the border again and again isn't worth it. Why is this so hard?

While we are at it, he should also have to pay the amount of money it took to rescue him. 07-coffee3

If they hadn't been so efficient, they wouldn't have a suit filed against them.
