MSG loses it's lease in 2023. But if that happens, the ACC or Big 10 won't be playing there either if that's what your're hoping for.

Invite Georgetown and only Georgetown to the ACC... That will do it.

The Big Ten will pay the Big East a very large sum of money (very large by Big East standards, but only a fraction of the Big Ten's TV revenue) to let the Big Ten use MSG during championship week for at least one or two years out of the Big East's current contract. The Big Ten could make this even easier for the Big East by letting the BE use whatever arena the Big Ten has reserved for whichever year the Big Ten plays at MSG.

So when is this going to happen?

For the 2016 Big Ten tournament, so that Delany can smugly say that he beat the ACC to NYC by one year. The Big Ten has already reserved Conseco Fieldhouse in Indy for its 2016 tournament, and they can just give those dates to the Big East.

Don't think the BE will ever be out of MSG completely.

This is how it could/might happen:
1. Either the ACC or the B1G wants MSG.
2. The western schools in the Big East want to play in a conf. tourney close to home.
and 3. The B1G/ACC writes the BE a big enough check to cover the financial difference between playing a BE tourney in MSG and playing a BE tourney in Chicago/Indy/Stl.

In such an event, all parties would win. That said, it is far from certain that such a series of events would happen. It's just a possibility. However, the theories that involve the BIG EAST having MSG ripped away from the conference are ludicrous in my opinion.
