Houston's record may look so-so, but they have some good wins.

I think a win tonight might open some eyes on the committee to the idea of a 6th American team.

Oddly enough,
If we would have won our game at UCF instead of laying an egg, then yes. That loss hurt alot. Having said that. Louisville is amazing and if we win, it would be a miracle. I say even if we beat Louisville we don't make the NIT. Good game by the Knights yesterday.

Making the NIT for the basketball power conferences is going to be tough this year... A lot of Number 1 seeds in the mid/low majors lost in their conference tourneys, and thus received auto-bids to the NIT.

Too many 20 win teams ahead of them - Missouri, Arkansas, Providence, Minnesota, Cal, and 19 win teams like Cal & (I hate to say it) FSU if they can squeeze out another win. If a few of these teams win another conference game and get to a conference final at 22-10 or 21-11 like Providence and Minnesota SMU may have issues making it much less Houston.

Exactly right. The NIT is out of the question, Houston can win the tournament and earn the NCAA bid or accept a likely bid to the CBI again. A team with an RPI over 100 isn't a candidate for at-large bid to one of the NCAA run tournaments.

One last go around with Houston...Houston is a 18 Point Underdog...if they beat us it would be the Biggest Upset this year by far in College Basketball..you beat UofL in November, December and January...it takes a Herculean Effort to be L1C4 this time of year....05-mafia

They would have 16 losses with 18 wins (assuming beating Louisville, but not winning the auto bid). There is no way

I believe our RPI is in the 150's. A win vs Louisville followed by a loss in the final will probably leave us only marginally better than we currently are in RPI---plus we would have less than 20 wins. I doubt we would make any post season tourney--much less the NCAA's or NIT.

if Houston beats Louisville tonight, they are hot enough to win the whole tourney, and would most likely be able to get in that way.

Sorry Houston, you are not going to win the tourney and that is the only way you play in NCAA, and that my friends is not going to happen. Houston is not going to beat Louisville, UCONN or UC. Not going to happen.

Don't think anyone is actually saying it will happen.

No. Houston's only shot at making the NCAAs is by winning the conference autobid.

Houston has no chance unless they win the tourney.

If you use Sagarin's ratings, Houston has a 2.3% shot at making the Final tomorrow, and a 0.3% chance at the auto-bid. The auto-bid is the absolute only way in. Houston's RPI is 145. The current ESPN last 4 in have RPI's of: 34, 39, 43, & 51.

No way. Maybe (slightly) NIT but a win would be a good sign for the team. Realisticly, UL is in full tournament mode and my Coogs are in for a game.

They'd have to take the whole thing. Not saying it's impossible, just quite difficult. On the upside, they got something to build toward next year.(Assuming they win) In all fairness, that wasn't a bad win at all yesterday against SMU.
I notice Houston does a lot of iso on offense, it's going to be hard to win the whole thing playing that way.
