good grief, big east my arse.

I guess Cincinnati doesn't count in your world

if you are older than 12 you will remember that cincy is the same cincy that was in cusa. the beat us when they were in cusa. we beat them when we were in cusa. it happens. it is cusa. heck temple isnt even really big east if you wanna get technical, they were in the mac before they joined the aac. somebody posted a stat that since 1980 we have played louisville in basketball more than any other opponent. big deal.

This is life in a good league. You win and you lose and it's normal because ALL OF THE TEAMS ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO BEAT EACH OTHER. I know that's a shocking thing to some people, but most teams don't expect to go 19-0 in their league every year.

Good teams in good leagues usually don't squander homecourt advantage to teams that don't have better talent during the conference tournament.

RE: Fact is these BigEast teams
Playing poorly against good teams that do not play poorly- yes- leads to a loss- often by double digits.

But, considering Memphis thoroughly outplayed UConn on the road- and swept Louise, that is the only real take from this...we certainly can compete- but yes- cannot take time off as coasting will come back to bite you.

Most were aware of this beforehand. Hopefully that is all over now.

Louise sandwiched a Final Four in 2005 (CUSA) and a NCAA tourney 6 seed in 2007 with the NIT in its first year in a stronger then Big East.

Looking forward to Sunday.

I think it has little to do with matchups.

I am watching Cincy and UCONN.

They value EVERY possession, go hard after EVERY loose ball, challenge EVERY shot, and are crisp on EVERY pass.

Our kids are loosey goosey with their passes, don't challenge shots enough, and are not dialed in at all times.

The Cincys, UCONNs, and Louisvilles of the world have been hardened to that task.

Our kids can only play that intense as a group in spurts like the end of Gonzaga game or Louisville game.

They are very good if they do but horrible if they don't.

We got beat to a ton of loose balls the other night. IMO that set the tone early. UConn hit a couple of open 3s early because of it.
