In all reality, NIU has become the face of the MAC in football yet the MAC continues to treat NIU like a red headed step child. Its time for NIU to start thinking of an exit to another conference.

Too bad the old Big East isn't in tact, it would be a good fit.

Id agree with you but we are in a small-minded mentality right now in terms of leadership. Until NIU walks the talk and shows dedication to growth, these discussions are really tough to have.

MD, I do not understand the anti-AD tone. I think he is on the right track. Please give him a reasonable amount of time to execute his game plan.

Yea, the schedule is not something that can be turned around quickly. Most important thing is that he realizes there are problems. Jiff was never going to fix them because he thought everything was just fine.

First order of business is to increase the hotdog supply. :-)

Yes, the last thing we need is fans becoming meaner because they get no wiener.

When it comes to football game atmosphere, there was nothing like the East lot when the students filled the whole thing. A half empty parking lot in the direction from which most people approach Huskie stadium looks bad and makes students think it's lame - and this is important as these factors can influence whether they continue to go to the game for the next 40 years. I think he does consider scheduling an issue, where Jiff seemed to think everything was hunky dory. If he can't influence the scheduling due to facility issues, I'm at least confident that he'll do what he can until such time that we can upgrade the stadium facilities.

Really agree with you on the east side lot being filled with students having more than a great time. It is one of the first really noticeable anchors that's helping to keep students on campus, building on their memories as they become alums and the obvious addition to the festive atmosphere it lends for all those returning alums and their guests.

In all reality, the MAC strictly enforces the number of hot dogs that can be served on gameday. The formula used is that the maximum number of hotdogs that can be served is 12.5 % of paid season ticket holders.

If that's true and I have no doubt that it is, then they should have a hot dog lottery to receive hot dog vouchers to purchase hot dogs. This would mean each season ticket holder with two season tickets would get 1 hot dog voucher per season with a 25% chance to get another hot dog. Those lucky enough to get an early voucher could sell them at quite a profit and go to the next level and still have change left over, while those getting the voucher for the last November night game will be smuggling in beer to wash down the dog. Now if we could only get them all to actually go into the game!
