Ranking All 128 College Football Coaching Jobs for 2014
CUSA schools:

77. Southern Miss
No member of the reconfigured C-USA has a stronger tradition of winning.

85. Marshall
Herd should be able to stock roster with players from Ohio and Pennsylvania.

92. Louisiana Tech
Great talent base to recruit. Move to Conference USA is a plus for a program that was a misfit in the WAC.

95. UTEP
Still in Texas, but El Paso is a long way from everything.

96. North Texas
There are plenty of players, but it’s the ninth-best job in the state.

101. FAU
Strong recruiting base and a new stadium have raised FAU’s profile.

102. Middle Tennessee
Decent location, but fan support has been low despite strong success.

103. Western Kentucky
Hilltoppers have made a steady climb since joining the FBS ranks.

107. Rice
It’s one of the toughest jobs in an elite state for talent.

108. UTSA
The Roadrunners are in a better league (C-USA) than Texas State (Sun Belt). A program on the rise.

119. Old Dominion
Restarted football in 2009 after a 69-year absence. Monarchs have a strong recruiting area, and a new stadium could be on the way. There's a lot of potential here.

123. FIU
Great location. Little tradition. Questionable leadership in the athletic department.

124. UAB
UAB desperately needs an on-campus stadium. There's enough talent in the state of Alabama for the Blazers to succeed.

agree with the author's comment about my eagles, but I would put NT at the top of the list moving forward....is based on my opinion regarding their potential of all the new football adds coupled with being in tejas

Im confused about the UTSA comment. Who is the program on the rise? I assume they mean UTSA but what does Texas State have to do with us? Since we are not an established program with a large budget paying coaches is an issue. The draw of Coker brings in talent but certainly not the money

Not sure this guy did a lot of research.

Marshall hardly ever recruits PA.

Also, its a bit superficial to only look at recruiting and tradition; money, or lack there of can be a greater detriment than never having an undefeated season...

I agree with our position and any decent coach has all the talent he needs within a 3-4 drive to have a very good program. It will be interesting to see if Skip can get it done in Ruston. One of the reasons Dykes took the Tech job was because he knew he could win in Ruston.

The internet is full of "10 best/worse articles". Most of it is simply filler to let everyone know your still around while waiting for something of substance to write about it. It also helps your search engine ranking by putting some piece of crap out there. Certainly nothing to take seriously, although I do love the "10 hottest babes of Tierra del Fuego" type lists.

Yep, after the P5 it was one sentence to explain the ranking, most of rankings were based only on winning and fan support, not much on tradition and demand placed on winning. While Bama and Texas can hire just about anyone they want, I wouldn't rank them at the top because one sub-par season and your gone and they fans will help you pack and tar and feather, and ride you out of town. This is more of a ranking of programs, not best HC jobs, IMO.

This guy is just lazy! I don't mind him ranking us 96th, or claiming UNT is the 9th-best job, but he could at least explain why he feels that way... Just lazy. Generic and lazy.
