RE: Attendance for UTEP game
Hopefully, El Paso will have a new arena for the next time a conference tournament comes our way.

That was the original plan but from what I have heard recently, land is very hard to come by downtown and it would cost the city too much money. According to local media, a downtown arena could take ten years. I would much rather they break ground somewhere else. I don't want to wait ten years for one.

Was hoping it would be higher.

Any UTEP fans planning to go to the championships tomorrow?

I'm on the fence. I'll probably skip it and watch it on tv so that I can go to church on saturday and not have to get up early on sunday. I hatttteeee to get up early. Besides, I'm still in mourning because UTEP won't be in it. 03-weeping

Also, being there for four days and buying the whole session shebang counts as doing my part. Anyone want session 6 tickets (2) for free?

I will be there cheering for La. Tech. I have been to every session so far and don't want to mess up my perfect record.

That's the big, big drawback for having it in El Paso. 9:30 on Saturday. It has be to be hard to get people up at that time, especially if UTEP isn't in it. Even if it's in Central at 10:30, that's still an iffy proposition if it's not the home team.

I understand being on network TV. And, that would have been a decent argument 15-20 years ago. But, I really don't understand it in the era of pervasive cable. I hope that whenever the TV deal comes up, either CUSA and/or CBS decide it's no longer worth and the champ game gets moved to late afternoon/early evening somewhere. Not only is it ridiculously early, it moves the semis up to a time when most of the world is working. And, I'm not a huge fan of that either.

I don't want to mention any names but this is what happens when your league is loaded with zeros.
