Oh well, they can still win five games, which, before the season, would have looked like a pretty good year.

Syracuse is headed in the right direction. Coach P left the cupboard pretty bare and Cuse fans just give CGR a little time to upgrade the talent level on Offense.

Syracuse didn't play too badly today. They just made mistakes, such as the fumbles, at the worst times. It should also be noted that Pitt is simply a better team right now too. But the Orange do seem to be headed in the right direction overall.

I feel that the program appears to be heading in the right direction too, but the cupboard being bare, Im not so sure. The last 2 years, SU and and Louiseville lead the conference in placing players in the NFL. The present team still has alot of Coach P's recruits and there will be at least a couple more players going to the NFL next year. Admittedly most of the players were defensive players, but the West coast Offense is not what these kids were recruited for.

Syracuse is not out of contention because of this loss. I'm not sure that anyone thought that Pitt was going to be one of those needed six victories.

Syracuse needs to win @ Cincinnati, @ South Florida and UConn at home. The other three games (Louisivlle, @WVU, and @Rut) are probably not winnable.

Cincinnati needs to win vs South Florida and Syracuse at home and @ UConn. Games @ UL, @WV and vs Rutgers at home are not likely to be winnable. Perhaps Rutgers. Maybe.

South Florida is closing in on win #4 vs UConn. Assuming they close the deal, then they need to win two more games: @ North Carolina, @ Cincinnati, and Syracuse at home.

Assuming that the other games aren't winnable, it basically means only two of these three can get to bowl season: South Florida and either Cincinnati or Syracuse.

Ain't happening. Syracuse hasn't won a conference game since 2004 and has only won one conference road game since 2001. They needed to win today to have a shot at a bowl game. They're not beating both Cincinnati and South Florida.

I really thought they would win today but would fall short of .500 because they'd lose to both Cincy and USF. They normally play like world beaters at home and suck out loud on the road.
