Bring on the Bulls of Buffalo -- Gamethread
We must channel the spirit of the mighty Hurons and skin the hides of the Buffalo (Bulls) in a way that would make our ancestors proud.

I have to hand it to you, Holy. As silly as that statement is, I was nearly rolling on the floor.

RE: Bring on the Bulls of Buffalo -- Gamethread
Our game against them earlier in the season was a weird one. We built up an 8 point lead or so in the 2nd half, had Javon McCrea bottled up and then...it all blew up in our face. We turned it over 17 times, a usually poor shooter (Jarryn Skeete) hit 4 threes in a row, and McCrea finally hit some shots.

We aren't going to beat good teams when we turn it over that much. We also didn't have JR Sims the first time around. Still, questions remain. How will Glenn's ankle hold up with virtually no rest? Is it realistic to think we can shut down McCrea again? Can Riley stay on the court?

I don't know why, but I feel good about this game. Outside of two or three guys, we played like garbage yesterday. Mike Talley had his worst game as an Eagle, Ray Lee and Darell Combs made bad decisions, and DaShonte wasn't in long enough to have any real impact. That should put a chip on their shoulders.

I'm excited! 9:00 can't come soon enough.

This game is on a neutral court so that's a plus.

May sound silly, but Riley's foulfest last night means he is rested for today.

Once again as we know, this team is deep and Murphy plays the hot hand (thank you J.R., GB III, etc.) and sits those who are struggling.

His bench is deeper than the typical 7 or 8 many coaches play in March.

EDIT: Based on the SAGARINS (NOT actual odds), UB should be a 1 1/2 point favorite on a neutral court.

This will be a tough tough game but let's stay positive and hope we can pull this off. We will definitely need to play a LOT better than we did last night.

I just found the odds: SUNY-Buffalo -3 (3 point favorite).

And in the first game, Ohio is actually -1 (1 point favorite) over Akron. Interesting.

Getting set to tip at 9:03. Should be a very interesting game, and I do like our chances on a neutral court.

Im going out on a limb and saying Mike Talley will be the one to step up tonight and do his thing... but what do I know ??

Prediction: EMU 65 Buffalo 57

I'd rather not have to go into cardiac arrest in another down-to-the-wire game, but I suspect that's what we're in for.

Bobby Hurley is such a tool. Mean mugs the refs anytime a foul is called on Buffalo. I bet he gets T'ed up tonight.

Buffalo hot from 3. Here we go again with that.

McCrea blows a dunk and then gets a T for hanging on the rim. Double whammy.

Riley out early.... I hope we protect him as much as we can tonight, especially with a lead.

He's came out strong and aggressive so far

He's been kryptonite for McCrea so far this season. Hopefully that continues. Javon has settled for 3 jumpers so far and missed all 3.

He had a double double in the only matchup against us this year, so he did have a solid game. He didnt completely get shut down... but it was definitely below his season avg.

Riley did collect 11 boards and 6 pts in that game though as well, so he definitely held his own. I'll take those numbers tonight for sure !

No one completely shuts that guy down. That's why he's the best player in the MAC. He had a rough game shooting against us until the end. Looks like he's on pace for that again.

Great stretch from Raven Lee. You see why that kid could be a superstar. Can score in a variety of ways. Freelove's hot shooting is the only thing keeping Buffalo in it right now. Gotta keep attacking. Let them settle for threes.

Tough way to end the half after being up by a solid margin. 16-5 buffalo run.
