"The Sound of Perseverance" by Death. In my humble opinion, it is a representation of the craftsmanship and talent that all metal bands aspire to.

...and the cover of Painkiller is awesome.

To pick one "all-time" album for any genre of music is impossible for me but to honor this thread I'll have to go with AC/DC's For Those About to Rock (We Salute You). I know Back In Black is the most popular of this group's albums but the follow-up comes across in a more pure, raw and basic metal instinct with catchy riffs, power chords, bombastic drums and Brian Johnson's guttural growl vocals. It is a simple but effective formula that is not too extreme on either end of the metal continuum of styles and will stand the test of time. It starts with the title track followed by I Put the Finger On You and Let's Get It Up and just keeps going strong from there like the Energizer Bunny for 10 tracks total. Night of the Long Knives is the 9th song on the album for crying out loud and it rocks! That's my two-and-a-half cents.....

While I get the big deal with that movie was that it was an American Anime, it wasn't very good IMO. The sequel though, wasn't too bad.

Pantera has that groove to their metal that a lot of bands in that "sub-genre" they play don't. I don't know if I'd go with one of their discs in a T? listing though.

I've always been torn between Appetite for Destruction and Back in Black as the cream of the crop. Also Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden is up there. I guess for the overall blending of material from track to track, Appetite for Destruction takes it.

Megadeth would make a top 10 albums....Iron Maiden with Live After Death is probably one of the best Live albums....

Ozzy has got to be someone in a top 10 list, along with Black Sabbath

Godsmack- Godsmack (Their first album with "Whatever").
