As I have stated many times, kids on our club soccer teams took tests on the road during tournaments. Players from out of town took tests in Memphis during tournaments. We would schedule thier teams around the tests, as they did for us. Not uncommon especially with teenage athletes who train at the highest level and spend a lot of time on the road.

That's right. Our mistake was walking into the NCAA's trap by agreeing that his invalidated test score meant we were playing with an ineligible player the whole time.

Ex Post Facto - How could the University be guilty of playing an ineligible player if the ETS didn't disqualify the test until after the season was complete?

From the report: On May 5, 2008, ETS notified student-athlete 1 that his May 5, 2007, SAT exam had been cancelled due to his failure to respond to ETS letters of March 17 and April 10. That same day, ETS also notified the NCAA Eligibility Center and the institution that student-athlete 1's scores had been canceled.

That's where the "strict liability" nonsense came from.

Face it, folks. The NCAA was out to get us. The University settled and accepted the penalties. Take down the banners & pay back the tournament money. No post-season ban or loss of scholarships.

Slap on the wrist.
