The stadium looks great. I am not a fan of the big gaps in the aluminum mesh showing the underside of the stands. Any idea why they left the big gaps in the mesh?

They aren't finished yet. Some of the gaps you see will be filled.
But some gaps will remain per the renderings. Presumably for better air flow.

Its a mesh, i.e. the air will flow very well since it is not solid without the gaps. Oh well, when they expand this will all come down and maybe we can afford a better facade.

This August, in time for the start of the football season.

According to the stadium website, there were two functional goals for the exterior skin: air flow, and to allow natural light for the concourse.
I assume the larger gaps are for lighting purposes. From the website:
Other factors contributing to the design of the exterior skin: 1) allowing natural light into the concourse while still protecting fans from the elements; and 2) assurance of ample air flow throughout the concourse and stadium for the comfort of our fans without hindering the performance of student-athletes.
The stadium bowl exterior skin will be a combination of special coated corrugated metal and/or aluminum panels providing long-term durability with minimal maintenance.

Will the moonlight be enough without unnatural lighting? I believe most of our games will end up being on ESPN at night:)
