I think that is a false assumption considering the vast majority of NBA players have college degrees.
They likely have no interest in working... The vast majority left school early for big bucks, just like NFL players. They don't want to do something they don't like, and they aren't going to flood the medical field if the NBA flopped out. And you definitely aren't going to get a job as an NBA analyst since there won't be as much to cover... Pretty much negates most of the degrees that were earned.
Just by the mere fact they are in the NBA (or any other professional athlete) shows that they have dedication, commitment, and a solid work ethic.
I already said that, but their goal was to make it to the top, when you push them off the ladder they'd climbed for years, you push their motivation down with it. When all you know is how to play basketball, it can't get you very far in the real world of hard labor or office work, unless it deals with basketball statistics, etc.
I think it's a false assumption to believe that all they know how to do is play basketball. Wyman Tysdale because a professional recording artist after the NBA.

No they don't. If it wasn't for the NBA we'd have the world's tallest janitors.
What is it about basketball players that makes you think that they can do nothing else except play basketball or be janitors?
It's not just basketball players, but football players as well, and by all means I don't mean all of them, just far too many. Have you ever heard those people speak? Many of them are idiots. They get recruited to college based on an athletic ability rather than smarts, they sign up for courses where the scores are rigged, and if they don't get into pro ball they become nothing. But like I said, not all of them, just most.
The way a person talks is not a sign of their intelligence. Many of these players are simply speaking in the way that they learned where they lived.

Come on bro, speaking in proper English should be a given for a college student. Or maybe you haven't heard many of them speak.

So far fitbud has proclaimed that intelligence is not demonstrated by:
How a person writes
How a person talks
A person's IQ.
The humor of course is that this absurdity comes from fitbud's own low level of intelligence. The tragedy is that he actively tries to persuade people of such nonsense.

Someone can mumble like an idiot moron and be exceptionally intelligent. I'm going to assume they're a blathering imbecile.
If you want to be taken seriously, reflect it in your speech.
