NIT Possible Home Game
I hope we are given a high enough seed to get a home game. Looking at last years bracket, Denver received a 3 seed with a 21-9 record and an RPI of 65. We have a 24-9 record and an RPI of 61 this year. Seems possible to me.

Apparently this site thinks differently http://www.bracketmatrix.com/nit.html

Saw this as well. We have a great venue and Nashville is city similar enough to Denver where travel won't be a huge issue for opponent. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a home game!

I looked at last year's bracket too. LA Tech had the second highest RPI and was rewarded with a 5th seed. It's hard to say where we'll end up, but a home game is possible. I would love it.

If we get a home game, we need to talk it up and get a good crowd there.

RE: NIT Possible Home Game
I contacted the folk from the site. Here is my email and their response.

Me: Why is Belmont a projected 7 seed in your Bracket? They have a 24-9 record and an RPI of 61. Last year Denver (similar mid major program) got a 3 seed, with a 21-9 record and an RPI of 65. I was hoping we would get a home game. I know they are just projections but curious what the selection committee will ultimately look at.
First off, the NIT selection committee is very unpredictable. For some reason, what's important one year may not carry much weight the next year.

Bracket Project: Bringing up Denver is amusing to me since me and the few NIT bracketologists out there whiffed on the Pioneers last season, either having them as high as a 5 seed or completely out. So in this light, I could be completely wrong about Belmont.

What I see in Belmont is a good RPI with more good wins than Denver had but also more bad losses than Denver to counter them. In my opinion, a home game is out of reach. They could reach a 5 if the pieces fall a certain way.

Well, if the bracketologists are wrong and we receive a 4 seed or higher, our home game should be fairly well attended. It looks like the student tickets are going to be covered by a "Belmont Supporter" according to the Bruin web site. With free tickets for the students, we should have a great and vocal crowd.

Well, it's a 5 seed and you guys are playing Green Bay. For those of us in the Horizon League, we hope it's a precursor to actual Horizon League games as fellow members.

Well, we got our home game the hard way. We get Robert Morris at home. Nice game boys!
