I think this is a great idea. Start basketball after Jan. 1, start baseball, track, golf, tennis and softball starting in mid-March through end of June or early July, and football, volleyball, soccer, etc. will have August-December, except for creme of crop in early Jan. bowls.

Kids miss less class with only one-semester worth of classes interrupted.

Focus is on NBA and NCAA well into spring, baseball improves its weather greatly and is more in tune with normal baseball schedules of minors and majors.

Lots to work out, but I do find the idea interesting.

I've heard some suggest moving baseball to the summer session. The players could take the fall or spring off.

Classes pretty much wrap up in late April in some schools, so I'm not sure how moving it to the spring would work.

It currently runs November - Early April. If you delay it two months, that pushes it into the summer session for some schools. How exactly would that help attendance?
