RE: SEC Network
A&M has a large share of fans in Texas, but remember its not just us. There are a lot of SEC fans from other schools who move to Dallas and Houston for work.
SECN will have little trouble getting picked up in the two big cities but may take longer to get to San Antonio and Austin (though Austin has a ton if Aggies so who knows) and if it never makes it out into West Texas, well that's not many TV sets at all compared to the TX Triangle.

RE: SEC Network
But they also have the most SEC fans.
Will be interesting to see how long it takes but I have Uverse so I'll be able to watch A&M/SC no problem.

And the lowest % of college sports fans.

This is great news! Musberger won't be doing any more big games. I won't be watching any SEC Network football broadcasts with him there.

I remember eating at a restaurant in Houston that was a LSU bar. Also I believe Metroplex is Mizzou's largest alumni spot outside of Missouri, maybe second to Chicago can't remember for sure. Arkansas alums are all over Dallas.

They dominate those cities on SUNDAY, not Saturday. People have enough sense to differentiate between the two. I can. Do you think the folks in New Orleans, Louisiana, for example, cannot root for LSU on Saturday and the Saints on Sunday? It's an apples to oranges comparison. In addition, I find it rather intriguing how folks can make the argument that the SECN will fail in cities like Dallas and Houston, but argue that Rutgers will do just fine in the NYC market.

They dominate the cities Monday through Sunday. Most of the casual fans follow only the pros. Colleges aren't ignored like NYC, but they don't get nearly the interest they get in Austin or Lubbock or Bryan/College Station or Waco. Atlanta is a city with pro sports that is very different than Houston or Dallas. People are more likely to talk about college sports. In Dallas or Houston, its the exception.

I guess that makes TCU an epic fail if you are correct?

RE: SEC Network
You'll see plenty of college gear in and around Dallas. That said, it's probably less of a college sports town than places without strong pro sports.
But that said, the burden of getting the SEC Network carried is on Aggie Nation. Non-A&M expats in Dallas and Houston, people who want to see top SEC games--that's the sort of network you pay extra for (a la carte, "sports package", "premium package", etc.) And the SEC NEtwork is not going to sign for carriage in Texas on a pay tier.

Thank you SECN. Dish now has ESPNU, ESPNNews in HD. Next CF season will be much more enjoyable for this. Even college baseball will be more enjoyable to watch, even though UCF has been disappointing.

No, Mizzou to the SEC was the epic fail. They just care about pro baseball in that state.

Not everybody cares about the Cardinals or even roots for them.
