He was elected without any executive experience of any kind - so he promptly surrounds himself with ideologues whose primary expertise wasn't in the fields they now head up, but was in socialist thought. That, or they were big campaign contribution bundlers.

This is the result of someone promoted above their experience level who was too stupid to hire experienced people to help him.

Never let your bulldog mouth overload your chihuahua ass. We cannot do anything that will hurt Russia as much as turning off the gas will hurt Western Europe. So we screw our allies in a fit of pique.

This would be a good time to speak softly but carry a big stick. Unfortunately we don't have a big stick.

I often think that the line of thinking that gets us in trouble goes something like this. We have too much military, we can destroy the world ten times over with nuclear weapons, therefore we can do anything. There are things we cannot do or control, and this situation is one of them.

The only thing Obama could have done to hurt Russia was to sign every drilling permit on his desk, to get every bit of natural gas possible out of the ground and bring the global price to the point where the Russian economy would really begin to suffer..

Well, now that Obama has relaxed sanctions against Iran, terminated Russian cooperation on nuclear matters altogether, ruined our relationship with Saudi, what better time to isolate Israel internationally whilst throwing them under the bus. It's all part of a coherent overall strategy. But Obama couldn't possibly have stumbled into such stupidity on his own... he's not competent enough to do so. It requires the unique misjudgement and cynicism of John Kerry. When America's leadership in the world is a distant memory and shantyobamatowns dot the country, Obama can stroll through the rubble and say I couldn't have done it without you, John. Of course Kerry would've long since gone under a bus.

Make no mistake, the US military still carries the biggest and most technologically advanced stick in the world. The problem lies in the fact that we have an administration that loves to threaten to use it, but unless that threat is the use of military drones to bomb huts in the dessert or to spy on US citizens, the threat is hollow and the world knows it.

The US should have stood back and waved a disapproving finger at Putin while encouraging the EU and NATO to resolve the issue peacefully and quickly. There was no need to take any action, much less draw another 'line in the sand' which will do nothing but trip Obama as he backpedals.

My theory is that too many people, especially women, vote for the better
looking candidate without knowing anything about them. I know I will be
hit up for saying that but it seems to be the case.

The majority of our nation in general, not just women, want to vote for the flashiest, "coolest" and best sounding candidate now regardless of the party. President Obama is a flashy and incredible speaker, Paul Ryan is young and more up to date on the times, and Palin is a lightning rod. Voting like that is not terrible, but due diligence should be used on every candidate running for any office. And to reply to the topic, no our president is not insane.

If the uninformed or ill informed voters were taken out of our voting the country
would be a lot more realistic. It's not what a candidate has done, or what ideas they
have but how they move the wow meter. We just as well get our candidates from the plastic
surgery out doors.

I heard some senators were calling on FIFA to take the 2018 World Cup away from Russia. If Obama were able to finagle the WC cup to the US in 2018 or 2022, I'd forgive pretty much all of the damage he's done to the economy and foreign policy. I think England lost out to Russia, so it's more likely to go there, somehow...
