Does CUSA also announce All-Defensive Team and All-Freshman Team?

At least on Feb. 6's

Henry should have been 2nd team at worst.

He is 19th in the country in steals (first in conference).

He is 13th nationally in assists per game (second in conference).

He gets 5.2 RPG from the PG spot.

Scores 12.6 PPG.

That is about as well rounded of a player that you can have. His biggest cons are FT shooting (71%) and Turnovers (A:TO ratio is only 1.81:1 I believe).

How do you go with four guards for an All-Conference team? I get that there weren't many good forwards but it just seems weird--especially four little guards. There's not even a SG/SF-type on here. It seems like they just looked at points and assists.

Imo, when you have 14 teams in a conference, no one is happy unless their are 5 all conference teams and even then....

3 PG's nonetheless! Woodard got robbed. He pretty much shut down any 2 guard he saw and got his on the statsheet to boot. Tulsa is the only one of the 4 at the top not to have a first teamer.

2nd team for Akeem looks good and hits the target most were projecting last week for him!

Guards usually are the stars of a league.

So are quarterbacks, but I don't see them getting extra spots at the expense of offensive linemen or wide receivers on the All-Conference teams.

Even if it is a weak group, you leave at least two spots for forwards. That's just how it should work. I would also say at least one spot for an off-guard (so not three point guards).

As for your last statement, my team's point guard was on the first team...and I recognize that he wouldn't have been had they given another spot to a F.

Congrats to all players selected! With so many teams, it's bound to happen leaving some players off the lists, or 1st team honors, though.

However, I'm kind of disappointed FIU's Tymell Murphy didn't get voted to 1st Team, as within conference games he was Top 10 in several categories: 3rd in scoring, 7th in rebounding, 2nd overall in steals, 8th in blocked shots, and 4th in FG%.

You guys couldn't play postseason and that might have had something to do with it.

I knew there would be two complaints in this thread.

1. Someone got snubbed

2. They didn't pick the team based on position

Every year the same complaints.

They don't pick by position. It's always the five top vote getters regardless of position. It's not a team, but the best players. They won't play anyone so you don't have to worry about four guards getting out rebounded.
