I collected a lot of discarded pop bottles to get the money to buy baseball cards…
although far from mint condition, my 1964 collection is somewhat large.

I think we talked about this a while back: One of the best musical themes EVER, cartoon or otherwise.

I haven't seen (or eaten) them in an while. This was one of the few "treat" cereals I was allowed to have (our house was typically full of wheat chex, grape nuts, shredded wheat and the like. I LOVED spending the night at friends' houses so I could eat the forbidden Cap'n Crunch, Count Chocula, etc). It was a huge deal when they introduced the blue diamonds. Didn't really like LCs much but I remember trying to eat only the oat parts so that I could have a bowl of (slightly softened) marshmallows at the end.
I had one of the original GI Joe's. But I didn't like it because I thought it was a doll (a girl's toy). I wish I still had it. It's worth a fortune now.
I do still have my Lone Ranger stick pony, although my great nephew is playing with it now. Squeeze the left ear and it plays the theme song for the Lone Ranger, with background horse sounds. It's ~70 years old, and still works like it did when new. It's my great nephew's favorite toy right now.
Anyone remember the SSP toy cars with the plastic zip cord? I used to drive my Mom crazy in the kitchen with these suckers crashing into cupboards, appliances, walls, ankles and such.
