Grant Milner @GrantMilnerFor a third straight week, Austin Nichols has been named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.

He's going to be a great one for us. I hope we can land Skal to compliment him in his Jr. year.

WTG Austin. He has greatly improved from the beginning of the season to now.

Now if we can keep JJ ,CC, and Shaq consistent throughout the tournament, this team can go far. Those 3 players will determine our fate in the tournament.

So we should win both 6th man of the year and Rookie of the Year in the AAC Post-season. Should be interesting to see who gets player of the year, probably going to be Kilpatrick.

CUSA would have the awards before the conference tourney started. I am not sure when the AAC comes out.

We'll probably get one first team (JJ), one or 2 more on second and third teams (Shaq, maybe Johnson or Chris). Nichols should be newcomer, and 6th man, well, really don't know what the other teams have but Dixon has the stats, but he started some too. Maybe 6th man should be done away with since most teams juggle players during the course of the year these days.

14 ppg 4.7 apg 46% from three. Leading scorer on SMU's team.

Yep. We won't have a first teamer. I would think Nichols and Dixon will get some newcomer honors.

Kenpom's national player of the year awards currently:

1. McDermott - Creighton
2. Parker - Duke
3. Smith - Louisville
4. Nick Johnson - Arizona
5. Kilpatrick - Cincy
6. Napier - UConn
7. Early - Wichita State
8. McRae - Tennessee
9. Patterson - Pittsburgh
10. Prather - Florida

3 players from the AAC in the top 10. I doubt if Russ Smith wins the award since there is going to be some that don't want a team that is leaving the conference to win a lot of post-season awards.

I doubt if the Tigers get a player on the 1st team AAC. Napier, Smith, Kilpatrick, Sykes and either Harrell or TaShawn Thomas will probably be first teamers. JJ will probably be 2nd team and Shaq 3rd team.

Great job Austin!

I love the kids, but Geron Johnson And Chris Crawford would fight to be first team all Memphis.

I think Joe will be second-team and Austin will be first-team all freshmen and that will be it.
