Who's your school's #1 gem of the 2014 B-ball recruiting class (future AAC stars)?
For ECU it's 6'1 versatile PG Lance Tejada, who is the POY for Blanche Ely HS in Hollywood, Fla. Chose ECU over offers from UVA, Butler, FSU, Miami, etc. After choosing ECU he amped it up this past season leading the Tigers to a 21-5 record while averaging 23 pts, 5 assists, and 3 rebs per game. He recently scored 37 points going 7 of 12 from beyond the arc in the 2014 BCAA Big 8 championship game.
247Sports rated him as the 35th point guard and 167th best player in the country for the 2014 class. ESPN has him as the 27th best PG in the nation and the #8 prospect overall in the state of FLA. ESPN originally listed him as a top 150 prospect prior to this season. Not sure why they dropped him out because he went on to have his best year yet.
This past season, he led his team in scoring in 20 of the 24 games in which he played and was named to the Chick-Fil-A Classic, DHop Tournament, and BCAA Big 8 All-Tournament Teams. He was also the catalyst for his school's back-to-back state titles in his sophomore and junior campaigns.
He is expected to start and be a team leader from day 1 so the AAC should be learning about this young man very soon.

I hope in hoops we can start to keep players like Clark from leaving the state or going to the ACC. Those are the type of players that we need to keep close to home. We are making strides but have a ways to go to get to that level. Im happy with the recruiting class but would be thrilled to finally land a 4 star. We are recruiting some but have to get them on campus and get them to committ. One thing is for sure im glad Clark didnt go to the ACC and he is with an AAC school.

UCF: Only 2 commits.
BJ Taylor - PG (which UCF desperately needs) 8A POY, District 11 POY over guys like Joel Berry II who is going to UNC. Scorer that led the state in scoring and broke a lot of Austin Rivers records in the same conference.
Adonys Henriquez - 6'6" SG that would hopefully fill in for Sykes. Class 2A POY.
So UCF grabbed 2 of the 8 POY from Florida.

it's my hope that most aac schools wish he went to an acc school. we here in bearcat country, land of misspent youth and wives and daughters, feel that if the kid had a ceiling his arms would be through it by now

Lebo tried to get Clark, Montrezl Harrell and Anton Gill, but for some reason those kids are hard to get at ECU; even though they all live near the campus. ECU has to do something to start getting those kids.

We have a highly touted PG coming in Mitchell Wilbekin. He plays similarly to his brother, Scottie, who is probably getting some sort of all american honors this year. My guess though, is that he redshirts in his first season as we already have a great pointguard in Shaquille Harrison who has shown loads of talent both offensively and defensively. And, we already have a sparkplug backup / 6th man in Rashad Ray.
However, our best recruit may already be on campus. I.E. the 6-11 center we've redshirted this year - Emmanuel Ezechinonso. He's built like a pro wrestler. If Danny Manning has taught him some finnesse this year, he's going to be the dangerous big man we've been lacking for two years.
