No matter what happens in the AAC Tournament this week...
It will be nice to have a conference tournament with teams whose fans actual travel. I know UL will bring a ton of fans. UC will probably bring a lot too. I'm not sure about UConn, but I would bet that even though their campus is a gazzillion miles away they will bring more fans than UAB, USM, ECU, Rice and Houston combined.
I am interested to see how well SMU fans travel after having a good year and being ranked. I am really hoping they travel well. This conference needs SMU to maintain a high level going forward.
I have low expectations for UCF, USF, Houston and Temple. I do think in better years Temple fans will travel well.

Me too. Those CUSA games were horrible from a fan participation stand point. Even in Tulsa last year, the Memphis fans and casual observers out numbered the Tulsa fans. Squeaky's UAB team is the only time a group of more than a couple hundred fans not for Memphis traveled to attend a tournament game.
This year SMU might even bring more than 100.

We generally dont travel well unless it's NY, NJ, PA, DC. We had a decent contingent at our Bowl Game in New Mexico, but it was only a couple thousand. We did have around 17K for our Bowl Game in DC. If we're good like we usually are, we would probably bring around a thousand or two to Memphis. This year, it's probably not more than 50. I'm certainly not wasting the time and money.
