This board will suffer because you don't proofread. Tulane will be fine.

We can turn it around, but the first year will be ugly.

We're definitely keeping Conroy, they're not going to fire a guy who finished 8-8 in the league despite losing over half-a-dozen contributors to transfers and graduation (even though the transfers were his fault).

But attendance will be bad. Like SMU, Tulane fans have stopped caring about hoops. Very apathetic compared with 10-15 years ago. The potential is still there though, much like SMU. Just need the right guy to tap it.

RE: Final AAC Conf Basketball Hoop Attendance Rankings
Last year we did 6.6k per game with a terrible home schedule. This year the schedule was much improved and we dropped to 5.9k. I think the drop had to do with our poor record. Realistically I think that we can do 8k with a good schedule and a good team.

Being 9-21 during the regular season is probably a pretty good explanation for why attendance was down.
Yeah but they show up for some MAC and Patriot league games in the preseason but not for Houston and Cincy? Heck at some point you just go to see how good the other teams are..

Impressive considering we didn't play any Patriot League teams and played only one MAC team. We also had more vs UC than we did vs UL.

TU attendance affected by record, inate disinterest in non-Philly teams, and rough weather. Louisville game moved from regular Thursday night to 6pm Friday, which was Valentine's Day.
We had one one game at 20k Wells Fargo Center. Otherwise we play at Liacorous Center, which seats nearly 11k.

Isn't Moody's seating capacity after renovation 7K?

.....or is it still early in the AM and I am missing some humor in your comment?

There is a period instead of a comma in their attendance numbers.

Still early oldtiger... just making a joke about a decimal point where a comma should be. Of course, there were a couple other periods instead of commas, but I went with the Larry Brown joke because it felt right. But hey, I never claimed it was a GOOD joke, lol.

But you are correct, Moody is at 7K (the numbers in parenthesis above are the season attendance average, while the first number is conference games only).

Look at Creighton, their average is above their stadium capacity. Standing room only at every game?

Edit: Also, how are some teams swinging 18 and 19 home games? We only had 14?

UConn also plays at Webster Arena in Bridgeport which has a sub 8k capacity. It's located on Conn's gold coast region. Tix are astronomical. Face of $75 upward, scalping in the $100-150 range. Ludicrous. That's the flip side of small arenas, ticket prices.

We always have 18 home games...it's our deal with FEF.
