I thought Chris Collins from Duke was that kinda guy. Maybe he is? He'd be someone we might have had a shot at but he's at Northwestern now. I don't want any young, up and comers. Give me someone seasoned with a proven track record. Even if he is a retread. I just think that kinda guy would see TU as a worthy rebound job.

That kind of hire has worked out okay for Harvard.

We can and should wait and give Conroy a year in the league to see what he can do. I know that's a hard and bitter thing to consider, seeing what we've gotten from him but I think he deserves this. He seems to be a coach who is (slowly) coming around to coaching at this level (beyond The Citadel).
Best Case for all concerned would be if be just left after this season. Made a lateral move to a school in the Colonial Athletic League or that other league just below it with VMI, that used to have The College of Charleston. He's got some "big time" experience and has been "successful" these past two seasons: A team with a post-season bid last year and a .500 team with a younger roster this year. TU figures to have more $$$ to spend on a coach after we've been in the AAC and I think the raised level of play will show that we need a higher profile/more experienced guy. A couple of safe names that are retreads that would work for me are former Northwestern coach Bill Carmody, who could work with what Conroy's got in place and former UCLA coach Ben Howland. No idea what he's doing, but Tulane and the AAC would be the right place for him to make a comeback.
Really...."deserves" sounds like this is a charity not a D1 Bball school with no fans, no momentum and in four years ONE top 100 RPI win against a team missing two starters.
