The voters have no choice but to drop UK out of the top 25 this week. The question is was the SMU win enough to keep us in. The Louisville game was enough to make up for the bad loss at UH. Just have reservation on if the SMU win will carry the same type of weight.

Absolutely we'll still be in. No way we drop out even if we didn't play SMU. Cincy was a top 15 team and were favored at their house. We may only drop 1.

RE: Polls
The two teams directly in front of us were UConn and SMU. Of course, we beat SMU. UConn got spanked so you have to figure we will move over them. It would probably help us if New Mexico loses tonight and Michigan State loses tomorrow. We will still be in because no one at the end of the rankings has done enough to jump us. We could even move up a spot or two.

RE: Polls
We lost on the road to #15, then beat #18 at home. We're 2-1 against Top 20 teams in our last three games.

MAYBE we'll stay around 20 instead of moving up, but we definitely aren't dropping out.

RE: Polls
I see us as high as 17, when you consider who all lost ahead of & behind us it makes sense. But I'm sure if Michigan st pulls out the w tomorrow they'll jump 15 spots.

5 wins against ranked opponents, and we gain respect from the voters. Shaman. I could get used to this new normal.

RE: Polls
I think a lot of people are still having trouble wrapping their heads around the ramifications of playing in a major conference and playing+beating ranked teams on a regular basis. This is what it's like to have solid ground beneath your feet. Feels pretty nice.

RE: Polls
Geron Johnson said in the post game interview that we would be ranked next week. Bank it.

There's really no one to move up into the top 25, with the possible exception of VCU. Texas got smashed. Oh St has to play Mich St, so one of them has to lose.

We wouldn't drop anyway, due to the quality win and the fact we lost to a highly ranked team at their place. But the fact that there are no teams in the queue behind the top 25 worthy of moving up means we wont drop out, and SMU likely wont drop out either. Hell, there's a chance they don't drop Kentucky out.

Seriously, have you ever heard of the #20 team beating the #18 team and then dropping out of the Top 25?

RE: Polls
We definitely won't drop out. I doubt we'll move more than 1 spot up or down.

If UMass beats SLU today, then we may jump over SLU and UMass would probably crack back into the top 25.
