RE: OT: Really nice write up on the South's Red Hot Town
Last year my wife and I went to Nashville. It's a great town. I really liked it. If we hadn't gone with another couple we probably would have taken a drive to Empty U. If I had my druthers I'd move there. I read some place it's the no.1 place to retire. I'd miss UTEP sports though, probably too much. I bleed blue and orange.

RE: OT: Really nice write up on the South's Red Hot Town
Went to Nashville on a lark when I had a few days to kill after meeting friends in Louisville. Figured, OK, don't have enough time to get to Chicago or Memphis, don't want to go home just yet ... screw it, I'll go to Country Town just to say I did.

Turned out that I really really liked it. Discovered Nashville hot chicken, hit Printer's Alley and Broadway, was surprisingly charmed at the Grand Ole Opry tour and subsequent show and gladly waited in line at the Pancake Pantry. Had a lot more fun there on my own than with friends in Louisville, and I'm a big bourbon guy.

I want very much to go back when someone good's playing at the Ryman.

I'm a big fan of Nashville. Went over there in September to see UAB play Vandy with two of my fraternity brothers from college. Went out on broadway after the game and had a blast. With it only being two hours from Chattanooga I'd like to make it back over there for a Predators game before the end of the season. Also planning on another visit when UAB plays at MTSU in the fall.

Bring a crew we'll have food and beer for you. As far as Nashville goes I recommend skipping the broadway stuff and hit midtown and the Gulch.

Go visit lower Broadway if you have never been to Nashville before, however I agree that midtown and the gulch are better. Skip lower Broadway when you come back again. 04-cheers

Hopefully in the not too distant future we can get the C-USA basketball tournament here. The SEC kinda screwed up that, though, by scheduling their tournament here for the next several years. BTW, the NCAA Women's Final Four will be held here next month.
