Toward the end of the game? They were only down by 9 with under 2 min and they just conceded. Seemed odd to me

A win didn't mean that much to SMU, so Larry Brown threw the game to help Josh keep his job so that he would be here to get out-coached next season when the wins would potentially bring more benefit. Strategery.

SMU scored best in transition off of turnovers.

We are usually really good with FT's at the end of the game due to ensuring Joe or Dixon having the ball.

If they started fouling, SMU would be reducing their ability to score (by virtually eliminating themselves from getting transition buckets) while allowing us to be highly efficient per possession. It didn't work out, but I thought it was a really interesting move.

I thought it was weird, too. I was all prepared to bite my fingernails, and then the game was over.
